Feeling Patriotic

american eagle whoa
When I think of America I can't help but to get all patriotic. The stars and stripes, warm apple pie, fried chicken, potatoes and gravy, hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, bacon, cheese burgers, any kind of burger, a side of large fries, milk shakes, potato salad, ham, a few turkey legs, no a whole turkey, steak, hush puppies, burritos, pizza, spaghetti-O's, waffles, bagels, muffins, a pound of oysters, a sea otter, anything that moves really, and things that don't move too. Bring our troops home, and tell them to stop by the store on their way back and pick up some food.

Spam. You either love it or you hate it. Me personally, I think it's good. No matter what your feelings on the imitation ham type meat I think we can all enjoy a bit of Spam Art. So here it is.

Gum. It's great. It freshens your breath, keeps kids quiet, eases your hunger, keeps your mind off of things, entertains you. It's a wonderful invention you put in your mouth. But what do you do when it runs out of flavor? Probably throw it somewhere, or stick it to something right? Reminds me of this tree at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia near the water slides. Everyone stuck gum to this tree. We called it the gum tree. Well one man had a fantastic idea about what to do with all his left over gum pieces. Recycle them. Gross. He made them into art. Maurizio Savini, is an Italian artist that makes sculptures out of chewing gum. His pieces have sold for as much as $55,000.00. Impressive. Here's some of his work.

Japanese Bento 8

Bentō (べんとう ) is a single-portion takeout meal about the size of a frozen dinner from the store, and similarly packed with meats, veggies, and maybe even fruit or deserts. The difference is the Bentō is not just made for shoving down your pie hole. It's meant to be enjoyed. These tasty character meals are enjoyed by both young and old alike. I like that so much effort was put into such simple meals. It just shows that anything done with love is better.

Delicious Designs

They say that sex is on the minds of people most hours of the day, especially of the minds of men. This is false. It's food. But can you put the 2 things together? Of course you can. Check out these designs using unconventional design materials such as food used to build sexy wearable fashion.

Artichoke Heart Gown
creator: photographer Ted Sabarese with designers Daniel Field and Wesley Naught of Project Runway.

It took the designers 6 hours to hand sew hundreds of artichoke hearts onto the model in the form of a dress. "Snap the pictures! I have to pee."

Chocolate Dress
creator: German bakery group "Lambertz"

Made of 100% solid chocolate created for a show in Munich on January 2010. Here it is worn by German model Alena Gerber. I'ld eat it.

Cream Puff Dress
creator: Ukranian pastry chef Valentyn Shtefano

1,500 creampuffs weighing 20 pounds went into making Mrs. Shtefano's wedding dress. It took Valentyn over 2 months to create the dress. I'm not sure why it would take so long to stick some food together. Maybe he kept eating them.

Lettuce Dress
creator: Project Runway season 4 finalist Chris March

With just $50.00 in hand Chris March set out to win the uncoventional design challenge of Project Runway season 4 by shopping for lettuce. For his efforts he recieved a delicious contract with Wish Bone for their spray-bottle salad dressing ad campaign.

Italian

Italian Cuisine

Who doesn't love Italiano food? That's right. Nobody. Find great Italian style dishes to make for your loved ones, or just a quick meal for yourself.

(pasta e uovo)

Pasta E' Uovo

Tools: pan, spoon, cheese grater, some awesome Italian style music.

Ingredients: 1 regular size package of pasta (I used macaroni), 2 eggs, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, 4 small tomatoes, mayo

Boil your tomatoes (crank up the heat), once you can see the skin wrinkling pull out the tomatoes and peel them. Separate the skin from the meat. Toss on a dash of your basil, oregano, pepper, and salt. Mix it all up while crushing your tomatoes.

Next get those pasta noodles cooking. Salt water to taste. Once the Pasta is ready strain your tomato concoction, and pour into the noodles. Add 2 medium sized spoons of mayo, and mix it all together. Now crack 2 eggs into a pan, and scramble. Mix those bad boys in too.

Serve while dancing awkwardly like an old Italian grandfather.
