Worth It

This time is hard and trying,
I'm climbing up a growing mountain,
I'm swimming against the current,
And it looks like it's going to hail.

These days are dark and frightening,
I've got a flashlight,
But I can't find the batteries,
I'm protected by an imaginary bear.

I say hello as the world says get lost,
If I stuck out my thumb,
They wouldn't even give me a ride,
To the hospital after they've run me over.

Lost, helpless, and hopeless,
Stressed, confused, and scared,
And let's not forget useless,
I could use less of this.

But then I look at you, and I know it's all worth it.

To my pretty wife Shiena. I love you. Febuary 01, 2011
