Calling All Bloggers and Facebookers

I have an urgent request for my fellow bloggers and facebookers.

My situation is desperate. Not for myself, but for people that I love. My brother in law was hit by a drunk driver last week and is in critical condition at the hospital and today his dad (my wife's dad) went to the hospital. They can't pay all the medical bills. We're all doing what we can, but what we have ...is not enough.

Please read on.

Recently I ran into some financial problems after marrying my wife who is Filipino. I had no where to go. Her family took me in with no complaints. They fed me. They gave me clothes, medicine, whatever I needed. I was a complete stranger to them, and they did this for me.

Today I held my father in law in my arms waiting for the ambulance. He had no pulse and wasn't breathing. His skin was so cold. I stayed strong and didn't cry for my wife and her family, but now I can't hold it in any longer. I love these people. My dad and my brother. They are my family. I will do anything for them.

So if anyone out there can help. I would greatly appreciate it. It can be any amount. There is no amount too small. And if you can't help financially then please like this post and spread the word. Message me on facebook with any questions you have.

Keep It Simple

This is for my fellow bloggers, and all future bloggers. So that you may have a better start. Keep it simple stupid. That is the biggest lesson I've learned along the way with this blog. You see when I started this blog it was simple. No fancy graphics. No gadgets. Just your basic blogger blog.

I posted funny pictures, and love poems. That's all. No stories or information of any kind. My average visits per a day was around 2,000. That may not seem like a lot, but how any blogs do you know of getting that many views a day? Most blogs are lucky to reach a hundred. I wouldn't post for weeks, and still everyday my views were around 2,000.

But I wanted more. I didn't want to be patient. I needed this thing to blow up quick. So I searched the net for tips and tricks on how to get my blog viral. I was told get your own domain. People don't like blogs that are from Blogspot. I was also told that I needed stories. And I was told I needed a more professional looking layout. So I did all that. I bought a domain name. I got a professional looking layout, and I started adding story after story. I couldn't wait to see how this was going to pay off.

They were wrong. My views went way down, and the people that did come were leaving just as fast. The blog was boring. It had the same kind of content I had before, just no one wanted to look around. Then yesterday I couldn't take it anymore. I got rid of the fancy layout. I went back to the basic blogger layout. Instantly there was a change. The views were going up. People were spending more time on the blog and looking around. And people were sharing my content.

So the lesson is don't listen to these so called blog experts. Blog about the things that interest you. And keep it simple.

Brain Fart

This post is a bit personal. Not feeling good about the blog lately. I decided to get a domain name, but someone took the name I was going with. I Heart Shiena. I was shocked. But then that is a problem with names on the net. If you make it popular then you better buy it quick, because someone else will get it knowing that you'll probably pay a lot of money to have it. Scammers and Schemers. So I went with a domain name I've used before. RedHotPogo. Since my name change my views have gone down, and my google adsense has gone down.

However I'm not quite sure it's the name change itself, because my old links still say "iheartshiena". So my guess is people aren't liking my content. So I think what would make everyone happy again? "Brainfart" I've got nothing. So I go to Yahoo news and take a peak at some current events. I see a story titled "Nine conditions that mimic heartburn". Attached is the following picture.

Okay. I've seen this face several times. This is not a "I have painful heartburn" face. This is a "Ohhhh that feels so good" fart face.

And that's it. That's all I've got. Oh there's this too. Bernard Clemmens of London managed to sustain a fart for an officially recorded time of 2 mins 42 seconds.

It's just business.
