It seems like so long ago now that there was time off from the everyday push and shove of trying to survive. A time to relax and reflect on the things you had accomplished, or plan your next step in life. A time to be with family and friends. To just forget about your troubles. Just for a couple days. But now it's gone. It's been gone for awhile now, but where did it go?
I'm talking about the weekend. Remeber those? TGIF! Thank God it's Friday. The weekend is on it's way. Saturday a time to relax your physical being. Sunday a time to reflect on your life or spiritual self. It was only 2 days, and it should have been more, but those 2 days were so special. Then they took them away. Just ripped them away from us, and said "Get back to work!"
But who took them away? Was it the atheist who will do anything to attack anyone who believes in something they can't understand. Did they go after the weekends to keep people out of Church, just like they try to stop holidays they think are religious. That seems crazy. We all know it's the Christians trying to push their agendas on everyone (wink). According to U.S. law, and I'm sure governments all over, a job cannot discriminate against your religious beliefs. If you religion says you need to be off a certain day, they are suppose to let you off on that day. For many people day is Sunday. But the second you tell them you are going to need a day off because of your beliefs you are not getting hired. And if you already have a job and then tell them that, they will find a way to get rid of you. (Don't find God if you want to keep your job.)
Or is it greedy businesses? The business world today has become slavery. The laws that were started to keep companies from treating people badly are not being used to gain complete control over their lives. If you work for someone even your private life is managed by them. Companies think that they need people working everday. They say that they will lose money if they don't have people working on the weekends. Of course that's just stupidity. Having your business going everyday just stretches out the time that you recieve money. If you made the work week shorter you would still get the same business, just in a shorter time span.
Or was it us? In our need to be on top, to have it all, to give the one's we love whatever they want. Did we keep working until we worked our weekends away?
Bring back the weekends. People can't take it anymore. The stress is killing people. Bring back the weekends, and you will have happier workers, happier customers. Your business will increase like never before.
Whoever you are. Weekends if you're out there listening. We need you back.
